Beginning to think there should a a Nobel Prize in culinary arts

And I want to be on the judging panel.

For instance: whoever invented the tater tot should get the prize.

(Actually I don't think I'd make the panel. To be on the panel you'd have to be able to eat all foods, and I have a severe physical intolerance to mussels. Too bad really, because I like mussels.)

I love your delicious sounding meals. You even get to cook on a boat and in the Adirondacks (I meant Catskills). Love it.

Add Yonnie3, too.

It's an amazing global competition for chefs from around the world to make innovations with food for an elite panel of judges. Food Network had a documentary called The Road to the Bocuse d'Or one year, and it tracked the Canadian and US teams as they went through the competition. Absolutely fascinating.

I think Top Chef used it as a model for one of their challenges.

AMAZING the amount of detail that goes into the foods those teams create.

Have you seen it? Alan Rickman plays wine shop owner in Paris and he decides to hold a blind taste test with famous sommeliers and wine critics to illustrate the quality of wines from around the world. His focus is on wines from the Napa Valley. I won't ruin the plot but it's based on a true story that I remember reading about in the newspaper.

I highly recommend the film! It has a great cast who play fascinating characters, terrific photography & music and the story is captivating.
