Tri-tips, less than $8 for the two (rib eyes didn't really look good - way too much fat rather than nicely marbled, but the price was also thru the roof!!) I realize this is a leaner cut, so instead of dry brining, I've had them marinating in a combo of soy sauce, pineapple juice, a little red wine vinegar, salt, pepper and garlic.

Husband will have baked potato with butter, sour cream and fresh dill from his garden and Brussels sprouts. I'll probably have a baked potato with the same toppings, sans dill, and fresh corn on the cob.

I ended up not baking the cake the other day (way too hot and already plenty of chocolate in the house for now), but there's some cherry chocolate chunk ice cream left from last week and I also picked up some mint chocolate chip today, as well as sugar cones for me to eat it in.

I used my new electric skillet & it was a bit of a learning curve from the old one, next time higher heat earlier and a bit longer

I do the opposite: I put it on low heat for quite a long time. I like the crispiness of the rice.

AFAIC, the best way to make fried rice is in the electric skillet.
