What's for Dinner, Sun., July 10, 2022

Shrimp salad. The shrimp has been sitting in citrus marinade. As far as lettuce, I had to buy a head today because all my garden lettuce is spent. Anything that's there is tasteless or bitter. Now for another six weeks we go into the hot season in Jersey, and I'll have to buy my lettuce.

Flatbread with mozzarella, caramelized onion, and mushrooms.

Dessert: cold Earl Grey and a coconut cookie.

I used the Kroger frozen Mexican style vegetable blend, and added green pepper, onion, garlic, jalapeno slices and spices. I cut a chicken breast into bite sized pieces, and sauteed it in a pan I had fried bacon in this morning. Added onion, garlic, liquid smoke, spices, and peanut butter powder.

Dessert was vanilla ice cream with some mini chocolate chips sprinkled on.

It will do for now

Have you ever put brown sugar in your tea? Hot or cold? I had some iced brown sugar bubble tea and really liked the flavor.

but I will now! Thanks for the idea.

I love love love bubble tea. I even have some large Israeli tapioca pearls just waiting for me to make one. Plus I bought a book on how to do it!

Mixed salad with red leaf lettuce, red onion, orange pepper, cherry tomato halves, croutons and Marie’s Blue Cheese dressing.

Barbecued pork loin and grilled chicken breasts with grilled corn-on-the-cob. I’m going to try grilling the corn in the husks as I haven’t done that before. Usually I shuck the corn, butter, salt and pepper them and wrap them in aluminum foil before grilling them but this will be an experiment.

Bailey’s Irish Cream and Backgammon for dessert.

I set the fryer up outdoors.

Cole slaw, corn muffins, homemade tartar sauce

Cold bottled beer.

Some kind of ice cream for dessert for the guys. I think I have several different flavors in the freezer.

Jul 2022

We'll start w/ a garden salad (romaine, grape tomato, celery, carrot, Vidalia onion, yellow peppers, 1/2 egg)

The sauce and the meatballs are homemade. It's fettucini instead of spaghetti

oatmeal chocolate chip cookie for dessert

It's one of those Bisquick "impossible" pie recipes. It turned out really good, and was pretty easy.

toppings are bell peppers and artichokes. Also the answer to "What's for lunch tomorrow?"

Cold earl grey tea sounds interesting: I'll have to try it sometime
