Appetizer is a cup of my cold, creamy cauliflower soup. It's hot here, so this is a good way to start off dinner. This soup turned out so well (Taste of Home recipe). I made a topping for it: fried sage leaves (using butter) and toasted pistachios.
I noticed cauliflower is starting to come in now at very reasonable prices: $2 a head on sale.
Shrimpburger with additional shrimp added on top. Sauce is made with mayo, sesame oil, and grated ginger. Serving this over a toasted slice of 21-grain bread, and it's open-face.
Cucumber salad with red onion and sour cream.
Bowl of cherry tomatoes with chopped basil.
Dessert: teensy, tiny slice of carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.
Earl Grey iced tea.

(23,317 posts)sliced pears and arugula. It is a Jamie Oliver recipe that I make again and again. I'll serve a tossed salad on the side and a second salad of new potatoes and wax beans in a basil vinaigrette.
