(16,963 posts)This is a cold appetizer and I forgot how good it was
2 rolls of crescent roll dough
Lay the crescent rolls on a 15" x 10" x 1" press the edges together, and gently push the outside edges up along the edge of the cookie to make a low crust. Bake at 375 until golden brown. Remove from the oven and cool on a rack.
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup mayo
1/4 cup ranch dressing
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
dash of hot sauce
dash of Worchestershire sauce
Mix the ingredients togetherm and spread on the cool crust
Top with your choice of fresh, finely chopped vegetables. Probably 2-3 cups
raw broccoli
chopped green onion
shredded carrots
chopped bell peppers
Finish by sprinkling shredded cheddar cheese on top of the veggies
Cover with plastic wrap and lightly press the toppings into the cheese. Chill. Cut into bite sized pieces. Can be served immediately, or made ahead.

(10,137 posts)So it's great party food: no utensils needed, easy to make a vegetarian version, seems healthy - and easier to make in a large batch than a small one!

(22,767 posts)I used to take this to a lot of parties when we could still gather. It was always a big hit and went like wildfire. Can be served with good crackers or slices of baguette.

When I've been in a rush to get it made, I've bought the cheeses already shredded and put them in the food processor that way. I also use dried basil rather than oregano bc I don't like oregano.

(22,767 posts)I mean you have nearly everything you need already for the recipe you listed. The apples remind me that the recipe I posted would be fabulous on some nice tart apples, too.
