What's for Dinner, Sun., Oct. 23, 2022

Eggplant/manchego sandwiches on 21-seed bread with mayo, red pepper, lettuce.

Kohlrabi slaw. Made with lime juice and peanuts.

Peach Paradise kombucha.

Decaf vanilla-nut and five-seeded almond bar.

I really want a piece of chocolate cake but refrained from buying any at the store. But I still want it.

experimenting w Safeway bakery; one at my former Safeway (DC neighborhood, 30+ years ago) had a very good bakery, which I may not have appreciated sufficiently at the time.

Not sure about dessert yet. I'm thinking of baking some muffins for tomorrow's breakfast so maybe one of those.

pork loin chops w/sauerkraut, roasted beets and turnips, and scalloped apples.

He made a fresh pot of coffee, so I made myself a mocha and added the last of the holiday Frangelico.

We’re in Onancock, VA and we ate at the restaurant next to the marina.

Crab salad with tons of veggies as an appetizer.

Flash seared beef filets marinated in garlic oil. Mashed potatoes with butter.

Dessert was apple slices with cinnamon and sugar. Then we watched the quirky but excellent Benny And Joon movie.

I think I need to watch "Harold & Maude" again. Haven't seen it in a decade or more.

Yum to that dinner. I like the flash seared beef filets part and oh, the veggies as the appetizer!

dal makhani (made some time ago in a big batch and frozen in 2-person portions), aloo gobi (cauliflower and potatoes, not as good as some of my attempts), and chicken korma, with a store-bought sauce. And there are a lot of leftovers for later this week.
