Joloff rice is today's Google doodle.

FTR, my neighbor Rex, makes Ghanian joloff rice. He has things, many things to say about Senegalese and Nigerian joloff rice. I understand that, I grew up on Polish perogies, the Russians stole that recipe per Grandma.

The US equivalent is Brunswick stew, kind of a combination of Joloff and succotash. Both versions are absolutely delicious and when made with chicken thighs, remarkably affordable.

Just don't forget the cayenne pepper in the domestic version. The heat actually diminishes on the second and subsequent days, so there is no need to be afraid to use it.

Ten thumbs up for this one, it's one of my favorite things in winter.
