Do I use a standard carving knife or a poultry knife?

(22,250 posts)I fixed some tonight. Sliced them into fillets and pan grilled them, then cut them up for a salad.
I have a knife which resembles a bread knife except it is only about 8 inches long. That nice serrated edge slices very nicely - I start on the thick side and slice across
LOL I always have to have these in the freezer. They are the best. (I really think they are Pterodactyl breasts)

(9,165 posts)If bone-in, do you plan to bone them? If boneless or if you dont plan to remove the bones, use the carving knife. If you want to bone them, use the poultry (its a boning knife) to remove the bones, and then carve with the carving knife.

Of course, if they're already cooked, that doesn't apply.
As long as the knife is a sharp one, I don't think the kitchen police are going to arrest you.
