Related: About this forumVariation on salmon spread.
Just put this together with some necessary mods bc of things I didn't have on hand:

Instead of smoked salmon, I used most of the can of this Norwegian salmon filets (less a good pinch I gave the cat):

Also, no more fresh dill so used about half the amount of dried. Sea salt rather than kosher, even tho I have both.
I did use a scant more than the 1t. of horseradish and think it could have used more, but husband really doesn't care for it so tried not to go overboard. We both really like it, but agree it needs something and would benefit by adding some chopped pimento.
(Photo isn't mine. It's the one from the website, just to add a little interest.)

(22,767 posts)with some pimento stuffed green olives and zesty sweet pickles on the side. We're not big avocado eaters. I only like it as guacamole, and usually only homemade at that. Husband will eat it on sandwiches sometimes, but generally doesn't really crave or ask for it.

(1,490 posts)I like to make a similar spread with shredded smoked salmon, chopped red onion and capers. Cream cheese and sour cream or yoghurt for the "base".

(22,767 posts)I have a largish extra shallot sitting around and just finely diced half of it and stirred it in.
Those filets are very good. First time I bought them. Neither of us care for smoked flavoring, so they're a nice option.

(22,767 posts)that isn't my photo. It came from the recipe site. Mine is in a re-used plastic pudding bowl in the fridge.
It's just me and the husband, so no need to go fancy.
