NOT as good as it looks, 'crust' raw underneath.
*NEIGHBOR just brought a plate for me, turkey, chestnut dressing, cranberry relish, brussels sprouts. Pie later!
GREAT neighbors, who are also my landlords!
Pecan Pie with whipped cream delivered!

(36,270 posts)...and wants a Thanksgiving dinner. Now mind you, she gets ambitious but I do the cooking, lol. So it's a roast turkey breast, pan gravy, smashed gold potatoes, roast acorn squash, homemade cranberry sauce, broccoli, and fresh baked dinner rolls. The turkey is in the oven and the rolls are rising. A friend is dropping off half a pumpkin pie later.
It's just the two of us, and we don't eat a lot.

(9,673 posts)Del Monte canned grapefruit, Totinos pizza rolls and a coke. Ice cream with chocolate syrup. I'll find something to snack on later. If I get really ambitious I'll make homemade French fries

(4,589 posts)Made them smothered with mushroom pan gravy. Sautéed green beans with garlic and tomatoes, and pan fried a chopped up, left over baked potato with hot peppers. Used vanilla ice cream in my coffee as a treat.
Was feeling a little lonely and then a friend called to invite me to join her and her daughter for a short hike to a look out spot to watch the sunset. Back home now and enjoying a slice of toasted pumpkin bread and another small cup of coffee.

(32,075 posts)It was a pre-flavored Duroc tenderloin. I prefer to season my own, but the price couldn't be passed up. I had it with some cauliflower-spinach puree, jellied cranberry sauce, and Gochujang-roasted butternut squash. The latter was delicious! In lieu of dessert, I'm having a second glass of red wine.

later in the day all my sister in law's family came in and they brought civiche and tamales (homemade by my sister in law's mother) I brought home some of those! I look forward to her tamales every year.

(10,130 posts)Had a roast yesterday for our unofficial anniversary, and there was a lot of pink left in the center. So I minced a slab of it, mixed it with some worchestershire sauce, tabasco, and pepper, and will serve with a green salad and bread.
Turkey tomorrow - and the next day, and the next...

(21,999 posts)Today we traversed the 25-mile Alligator River/Pungo River Canal to Belhaven, NC. It was a beautiful motorboat ride through some natural swamp and marshlands. It was as a sunny day and we arrived at a marina where a big party was planned.
40 or so boaters showed up with lots of Thanksgiving food: turkey, ham, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, Brussel sprouts, wines, etc. a feast among mariners!
Happy Thanksgiving to all.
