(2,824 posts)The old fashioned buttermilk cream fudge that takes an hour to boil, crystallized solid. But neverfear, I am able to salvage chunks of it in coffee. Starbucks Schmarbucks. It is near heaven. ☕️

(22,767 posts)(not intentional) sipping my mocha and water getting ready to make a large omelet (4-egg) for us to split: pepperoni, baby bellas, onion, extra sharp cheddar and feta cheeses, hash brown patties, a slice of toast (his rye with orange marmalade, mine wheat with peach preserves.)
We'll also split a navel orange.

(22,256 posts)Then a nice serving of steel cut oatmeal which I cook with frozen berries and less water. I have found this wonderful berry mix with blackberries, raspberries and blueberries. No strawberries; they take too long to cook.
No added sugar and no butter. The fruit keeps me from missing those things.

Retrograde
(10,137 posts)which is now traditional, having done it twice. The Hollandaise came out pretty good if I do say so myself (its essentially butter and egg yolks, which is why its a once a year thing). Used the leftover Christmas ham instead of Canadian bacon.
