Broccoli and ground pork on cauliflower pizza crust. Lots of mozzarella and red pepper flakes over the top.
Talenti gelato bars for dessert. They are "mini" bars. Chocolate.

(19,600 posts)I made the sauerkraut balls with my homemade bulk pork loin sausage, sauerkraut and cream cheese. Baked, not fried. Romaine with onions, radish, and celery, some Mozzarella cheese and creamy Italian dressing. Nice cool down from all of the holiday food.
I'm looking forward to seeing food ideas thru January
Happy New Year!

How did things end up with you last night on your sushi mission?

(38,423 posts)but I didn't get the beef negamaki because the wait would have been too long.
This place is new and riding the wave of rave reviews around here. I should have known it would be difficult on New Year's Eve but I took a chance and got part of what I wanted.
I definitely will return, though, as I haven't had beef negamaki in an age.
Yum, your dinner sounds perfect for the New Year!

(22,767 posts)Can you call ahead and order to get the beef negamaki?
NJCher
(38,423 posts)that's why I ventured out in person, because I didn't trust their site. I didn't want to pay for an order and get over there to find it was messed up or worse yet, not even made on a busy night like New Year's Eve.
I'm going to make reservations to dine in person around January 15, when the RG will be coming in from Italy. That's how long it takes to get a reservation, at least at the current time.

Hand made ramen, with chashu (pork - soy sauce, rice wine, sake, ginger), negi (scallions), corn, tamago (egg). And small piece of leftover chashu pork with karashi (spicy mustard) on the side.....mmmmm. With a cold beer.

(4,635 posts)at least, for the two of us!
Hubby grilled steaks with his special homemade BBQ sauce... they turned out scrumptious and melt in your mouth fantastic.
I'd started a pot of black-eyed peas, the Cajun holy trinity, and various herbs sometime earlier to add to some rice for our own version of "hoppin' John"
Finished it off with a great piece of home made cornbread. Hopefully this will ensure joy, love, health, and prosperity for us in this new year! (gryn)
I'd thought about baking a bundt cake for dessert, but neither one of us could hold one ounce more tonight, I'm convinced!
