Can anyone share some "finger food" appetizer recipes?

I'm looking for some easy recipes and ideas for sweet or savory food appetizers and snacks for an evening event in a few weeks (I'm managing the event.) There's a baking club within this group, and we're hoping to make most of the food ourselves.

So far, someone is making pakora's, and someone else is doing a zucchini bread, and also brownies. A cheese platter with fruit is also being served.

I would appreciate any suggestions and recipes you can offer.

Use pitted dates, wrap in 1/2 piece of bacon, use a toothpick to hold it in place. Broil until bacon is crispy.

Sweet and savory crowd pleaser.

9. Assuming these are served from a table, how about grape jelly meatballs in a crockpot?

Premade frozen meatballs in a crockpot cooked with grape jelly, ketchup (or bbq sauce) and a bit of minced onion. You can spice it up by using chili sauce instead of ketchup if you prefer. About 2 or 3 hours in the crockpot is all it takes. It sounds odd, but I promise it's good. Get some nice picks to put out next to the crockpot, and you will likely not take many home.

If you want a more delicate appetizer, you can buy a loaf of cocktail bread, spread some kind of flavored cream cheese (veggie cream cheese, for example) on it, sliced cucumber, and chopped fresh dill over the top. I suggest scoring the cuke before you slice it to make it look more interesting, but that's optional. Added plus is it's not "meat centric" and it's an option for vegetarians. Very basic, but always a solid option for a passed canape.

When you are working with volunteers, sometimes easy and foolproof recipes are handy to have in your recipe box.

It's a vegetarian event, so no meatballs. All food will be on one long food table.
Cream cheese and cucumber will work nicely. Hadn't thought about cocktail bread
Great suggestion. Thanks

10. A round of brie

Sep 2023

with crust cut off all the way around (this is a treat for the cook, to be put away and enjoyed later). Put it on a cute plate and microwave just 30 secs or so to warm it up. Drizzle it with a little honey and sprinkle with sprigs of fresh thyme. Serve with crustados or whatever it is you call those slices of french bread lightly toasted in the oven (I buy the ones the supermarket already toasted). If you have a fancy butter knife, this is the time to bring it out.

Im trying to avoid folks having to cut up or spread stuff.
I'd thought about spreading or slicing brie on bread or crackers, with assorted jelly or jam as a topper. But I appreciate the suggestion and will use it in the future. Thanks.

Now that I have your attention.

I dont use the standard way, I make sure I scrape out all the vanes and seeds. And I use cheddar cheese spread instead of cream cheese. I do make sure I leave a seed in a few here or there so some one gets a little heat, but its never hot.

Just google it

Spread cream cheese on a piece of Lebanon balogna, wrap around a dill pickle and slice.
Or (one of my favorites) spread cream cheese on baby rye and top each one with a slice of kosher pickle and a sprinkle of dill.

any dressing will do, even a box mix. then make a little ball of it about the size of your thumb from the knuckle to the tip. Wrap half a slice of thin bacon around it and hold in place with a toothpick. Cook it in a toaster oven or regular oven, turning once to get both sides done.

We make these every year on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Make a lot of them, there will never be any of them left over.
