I just made a giant pot of chili—some for the freezer, some for now. Having it over leftover rice and topped with cheese.

A local grocery chain has seafood on sale this month, so we got some Dungeness crab. My son picked it over (he's very thorough) and I'll put the rolls together. I have some broccoli I need to use, probably steamed with some kind of sauce, and the starter will be a grapefruit half. Tonight's wine selection is Winking Owl Pinot Grigio from Aldi, cheap but good!

I discovered that the rib meat on boneless breasts is juicier than the rest of the breast meat. I can make a pretty tasty small batch of 'wings' I saute them in olive oil, with black and cayenne pepper, maybe some salt.

I mix honey, yellow mustard and rum together to make a sauce and pour over when the wings are about cooked.

I got the recipe out of my Soup for Syria cookbook. It's cold & damp here--perfect for dinner. Plus, my daughter has a nasty cold. She asked for homemade soup.
