What's for Dinner, Wed., March 27, 2024

Salmon noodle bowl using udon noodles. The salmon is encrusted with herbs and seeds. Added to the noodle bowl will be baby bok choy, chile flakes, soy.

Ginger kombucha.

Dessert: went on a chocolate run last night and bought Haagen Daz chocolate cookie bars. Also a package of berry-waffle. Oh, and some Ferraro assorted chocolates.

Haven't had chocolate in this house for what seems like months! I'm indulging.

My wife got me these hello chef meals
They come with all the ingredients and a recipe to follow

The other day I burned steak, undercooked rice, and roasted green beans. The beans were edible. We had sandwiches for dinner..

Still finishing up my Sunday pot of beans with cornbread, but I did just make fresh mint tea from my garden. Spearmint colonized a poorly drained bed thirty years ago. I pot up some to set out as companions to the vegetable garden. The rest I harvest and dry bushels of leaves that gets me (and many others) through the winter. This pot was blended with mate and a little Bigelow Blackberry Citrus. Good stuff.

it had pollock, baby bok choi, carrots and potatoes, in a broth with coconut milk and red curry paste, along with cilantro and other seasonings. My son, weeknight chef at our house, was the cook. I asked him if he was working off a recipe. He said no, was just combining ingredients that he thought went well together. His cooking is really developing, though he still gets very flustered by tending to more than one dish simultaneously.
