(22,720 posts)I put the squash and a large zuke sliced on the grill. Then i sauteed an onion, added the squash and zukes to the pot with some chicken broth. Added curry powder, fish oil, soy, a dash of black pepper and some fresh squeased lime juice. Simmered it and them pureed it. Turned out great. Can't wait for my wife to get home and try it!

(35,685 posts)I have to have a recipe to pull this type of thing off. For example, I wouldn't have known fish oil would be a good ingredient in this soup. But somehow you knew that. I think certain people can "taste" in their head.

(22,145 posts)We are going to rip up the carpet in our master bedroom and install red oak flooring. All of my meals for the next week or so will be quick. I can't wait to get rid of this carpet.

(146,218 posts)I am thinking of stuffed peppers for tomorrow.
Hope you get to the store soon and that you are able to get what you need and what you want.

(146,218 posts)One of the goodies in my cheese order was Wensleydale with apricots. It was kind of a joke re: our ongoing Wallace and Gromit theme. It's got way too much fruit in it and the cheese, what there is of it, has a ricotta kind of consistency.
I don't like it plain and it doesn't melt very well.
So.... I did a google search and found a great idea for putting it on a grilled pork chop. It will soften and provide a nice, fruity slather.
And DH wants potatoes, so I will do those.
How was your Italian last night?

It's leaner and often tastier than beef.
TJ's has frozen buffalo burgers at a decent price.
You should check it out. I think you would like it.

(106,886 posts)Lean and darker, meatier than ground beef. I could see a buffalo burger with Swiss cheese, grilled onions in the works.

(50,130 posts)How lovely to walk outside and come back in with several big fat green tomatoes. I dipped the slices in buttermilk, then coarse cornmeal w/ some panko crumbs. I'm just waiting for the polenta to brown up at this point.

(146,218 posts)Are you going to serve them with any kind of sauce? I like a remoulade or even just some seasoned mayo.
I can't wait to make my southern visit this spring!!!
grasswire
(50,130 posts)I love remoulade.
Can't you get green tomatoes there? In the market basket of America?

So, the answer is - maybe, but not easily.

(35,685 posts)I cleaned out the freezer this morning and found numerous delicious items to cook up!
Also I have a nice clean freezer now. I am so thrilled.
So I found a bag of flounder. I tested it and it tasted good, so I dipped it in egg and then coated it with panko. I had also picked up a loaf of whole wheat nine-sprout bread with no additives from a bakery. Toasted it, mayo, romaine, layer of fish, layer of tomatoes, and topped with tartar sauce I made myself from a Martha Stewart recipe.
Served it with cole slaw.
Pretty frickin' good!

(3,702 posts)not for me, for hubby. I had a fake chicken sandwich and some onion rings... We are going vegetarian but I am still emptying out our freezer and my husband is not 100% ready to give up meat so he gets it once a week.
I snuck in some garlic - he is taking the leftovers to work and I will let him stink out his co-workers...muhahahaha
