Hi Lucinda! This is the time when I start to look at prep and a meal, so I thought to start today's dinner thread. Hope all's well with you.

(146,218 posts)I think I am going to steal the steak that a friend asked us to freeze for him and replace it at a later date.
Hopefully he won't show up looking for it before then.

(146,218 posts)Beautiful evening here, my friend. We are in a small cove all by ourselves. It's calm, cool with the sun going down and DH is going to fix me the *stake*.

(9,269 posts)Cooked at least 3 hours at 325 with potatoes, carrots, celery and onions. Will serve with biscuits and coleslaw. Won't be done for another 1.5 hours and smells divine!

(10,170 posts)fake barbecue with a pomegranate spritzer to wash it down and raspberry sorbet for dessert. Was planning on some leftover potato pancakes with it, but I think my kid got there first.
I may still be hungry and have to scrounge something later.

This will last me several days as the chicken is a 7-pound roaster. And my grocery delivery service has them 50 percent off next week. Oh well, it smells extremely good.

(32,086 posts)I have some grape tomatoes and some fresh mozzerella that's the same size. And, I managed to get a few leaves off of my basil plants, despite the fact that something has been chewing them into oblivion.

(35,698 posts)Earlier in the day, I made tomato salsa with red lentils. Is it ever good! I have two types of corn chips to go with this.
Coming up is zucchini rounds. I slice zucchini, dip it in egg and bread crumbs with parmasan and fresh chopped herbs from my garden. I serve it with mayo-horseradish sauce.
After that will be sauteed kale with garlic and feta cheese.
If I'm still hungry, then it will be some green beans which I'm thinking would be good with dill and feta.
For a beverage, I made lemon balm tea.
I loves me my September garden nights.
Thanks for starting the thread, Pinto!
Lucinda, hope you're doing OK!
