Taste bugs
The mention of taste buds in another thread made me recall something my son said back in early elementary school. I always thought it would be great to base a children's book off of this imagery.
In the car, coming back from school, I asked him what he learned that day. He said they had learned about "taste bugs".
I knew from his teacher that they were studying the five senses. I wasn't sure if I had misheard him, so instead of correcting him, I was curious to figure out his take on it. I asked they were.
He said, "Taste bugs live on your tongue. They taste the food and eat up all the crumbs!".
Maybe just his parent loves this, but I thought the imagery was priceless.
