(4,074 posts)well my daughter will be there but she's not quite nine months so it's mushy stuff for her. My wife is bothered by some of the spices in mexican food so I don't usually make it when she's home.

(32,086 posts)I had other plans, but ran some errands that took longer than usual--partly because I locked my keys in my car and had to wait for AAA to break into it. I made pea soup earlier this week and froze a few servings of it. So, I pulled one out of the freezer.

(35,709 posts)you froze some homemade goodies just for a day like this?
So much better than resorting to supermarket frozen goods or take out (in many cases).
I am in the process of making up vegetarian stock for soups. I plan on freezing them in plastic bags and taking them out when I want to make the soup. After work today, I bought voluminous amounts of leeks, parsnips, carrots, etc. I am using "Love Soup" vegetable broth recipes.
Tonight I made fried chicken and sweet potato crisps. White wine to go with. For dessert, dark chocolate with orange and nuts in it.
Sweep potato crisps are so easy and incredibly delish. I will be making them a lot more in the future.
