Basil tomato soup.
Grilled cheese sandwich.
Sauteed cabbage and onions. Might add some Beyond sausage crumbles.
The snow seems to have waned and gone into a light sleet mode. The winds from the north are blowing at a fairly good clip and it's very, very cold. So far my biggest worry about the power going out has been diminished.
Now, one more round of shoveling and I'm done with that for the day.

Ducky heartily approved of the menu especially the potatoes.
We've had no issues with the power. I think the precipitation has stopped. We've got around 6 inches on the ground but the top inch seems to be sleet or frozen rain. You have to break it to shovel and it is very heavy.

(1,791 posts)It was the first time I used whole dried green peas instead of the usual split green peas and it turned out great. Besides the peas, the soup also contains: chopped onion, celery, carrots, parsnips, cabbage, mushrooms and minced garlic. The perfect day to make this soup. Also had a toasted Kaiser roll. Cheers!🥂

(36,925 posts)I'm going to bake the cod with crushed tomatoes, olives, capers, and dill. Lemon wedges right off the tree!

that is my favorite way to have cod. I would be so thrilled if I could pull a lemon off my own lemon tree!
