Baking powder.

Here in Germany backing powder is usually sold in little packets. 1 Tablespoon or 15 grams per package. It is single acting.

Any way at one of my local stores I found a new product. I know it is new because it has 'neu' on the front.

Backin Pulver, backpulver for Air Fryers... 3 packets for 80 cent.

I buy the off brand of regular powder, 10 pkg for about 79 cent. The air fryer packages are 11 grams each, so you get less. I guess this makes some sense since air fryer recipes are smaller than regular oven ones.

If I get a specific recipe for my air fryer I'll just measure out the amount needed.

My problem with baking powder in the US is that once you open the tin the powder doesn't stay "fresh"

long enough. You can see this especially with biscuits. Just curious.

The ones I just bought are good until August 2027. If I open one now I don't expose the others to air.
I don't know the cost in the US for the 8 Oz can. Here I can order a 3 pack of Clabbergirl for about $28. Which seems pricey. My off brand powder is 80 cent for 5 ounce equivalent.

In the US I always tossed half a can unless I could get a smaller one.

I haven't had to dispose of any packets yet. But I'm making pancakes most every Sunday here so my use rate went up.
