What's for Dinner, Fri., July 17, 2026

Ever had a cheeseburger pizza? It even has dill pickles on it. I had one about a month ago and thought it was very tasty. I purchased that pizza, but it should be easy enough to make, so I'm going to give it a try.

Baby arugula with crispy iceberg for a salad. Celery, Vidalia, red and yellow sweet peppers, chopped Cheddar cubes, chia seed, and French dressing.

Kombucha: Pineapple.

Dessert: Cookie and cold decaf. Salted caramel/chocolate chip.

Haven't decided what to have with them yet. Maybe some yellow squash fritters.

I’d use TVP instead of real burger, but I’m picturing those spicy Wickles instead of regular dill. Will have to spring this on my son—but only after I’ve taken a couple slices for myself.

For dinner, though, I heard pineapple and am now determined to slice into the big one on my kitchen counter, which is right at the sweet spot where it’s starting to smell sweet.

That sounded good! But they only have the spicy Wickle sauce here; none of the pickles. In looking more, I see it's a FL company. I thought maybe I could order them from Amazon but they referred me to a company called NJ Pickles, which has a similar selection.

I assumed it was a national brand!

My fave is the spicy ones. They’re both sweet *and* hot. Son loves the extra-hot ones with chili peppers. They also have relish, plain old dill pickles, and sandwich spread that looks like it’s basically pimiento. Hopefully, they’ll branch out!

I see them on eBay at outrageous prices. Free shipping, but I wouldn’t pay $18 for a jar of pickles!

Not much time before showtime (The Odyssey) so I unfroze the chowder I made a few weeks ago and it was super tasty. Also made a cole slaw with cabbage, red onion, red bell pepper and pineapple. Cheers!🥂

We thought The Odyssey was terrific, btw.
