Still dealing with side effects...the pain levels are a bit better, and my breathing, but my stomach is still very unhappy.
Hope you are all happy and well.

(12,253 posts)at a local restaurant that specializes in locally sourced foods. My personal favorite is the duck rillettes or pork pate with cornichon, slaw, and house-pickled baby veggies, like radish, carrot, and turnip. I order their fries cooked to a perfect crunch in duck fat, add a cocktail and I'm in heaven.

(22,733 posts)It's pretty tiny/cozy. One of favorite restaurants in town. And they have a regular menu, which isn't too cheap. And a special menu with about a dozen entrees on it--and you get two dinners and a bottle of wine for $39!

(106,886 posts)Everything had that just cooked, clear, fresh taste with some nice touches. The chicken came with sesame seeds and a bit of slivered cucumber over the top. Pot stickers were probably run under a broiler after the pan fry, the crowns were toasty not mushy. Soup had fresh scallion greens as a garnish.
We have a hand full of Asian restaurants here. Some are really good, some are just the basics. It was a neat find to see that this place had stepped up their game.
And, $20 plus delivery tip for what will be 2 meals and a snack is a great deal...

(146,218 posts)I am going to halve it and will cook it longer, then puree with my stick blender (so will skip the 1st regular blender step - I don't have one).
Spicy Tomato Soup
ingredients
2 (28- to 32-oz) cans whole tomatoes in juice (preferably organic)
1 large onion, coarsely chopped (2 1/4 cups)
2 teaspoons finely chopped garlic
1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh jalapeño chile including seeds
2 teaspoons finely chopped peeled fresh ginger
3 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
2 1/4 cups reduced-sodium chicken broth (18 fl oz)
1 tablespoon sugar, or to taste
2 teaspoons salt, or to taste
preparation
Drain 1 can tomatoes, discarding juice, then purée with remaining can tomatoes (including juice) in a blender.
Cook onion, garlic, chile, and ginger in oil in a 4- to 5-quart heavy nonreactive pot over moderate heat, stirring frequently, until onion is softened, about 8 minutes. Add cumin and cook, stirring, 1 minute. Stir in puréed tomatoes, broth, 1 tablespoon sugar, and 2 teaspoons salt and simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, 20 minutes. Working in 3 or 4 batches, blend soup in blender until smooth (use caution when blending hot liquids). Transfer soup as blended to a sieve set over a large bowl and force through sieve, discarding seeds.
Stir in sugar and salt to taste. Reheat in cleaned saucepan if necessary.
