My favorite are potato, potato, potato! There is a Polish deli not too far away that makes them fresh daily. Heaven!

chips at Costco this weekend just so I could have an excuse to make up a big batch of hummus. I do enjoy a good felafel; can't recall ever having a bad one. Our fruit salad is orange, strawberry, pineapple and coconut. Fresh fruit salad sounds the best right now.

I've got a few things left from my produce shipment I need to think about - artichokes, butternut squash. I think I will cook up those artichokes and we can eat them cold at any time.

grasswire gave me a recipe for artichokes filled with shrimp in pistachio pesto that was an awesome starter. Butternut squash is another favorite. You whole menu sounds good to me!

I like them that way the best too. Nothing to get in the way of that unique artichoke flavor.

(I like the Vietnamese-style rolls a lot. Lighter than the usual Chinese egg roll and a good side with wor wanton.)

We have one restaurant in the neighborhood that is pan-Asian and do a good job with everything from sushi to curried lobster. Spring rolls have the most irresistible crunch.

We are having the predicted reprise of last night's dinner. Tonight, I made fresh gravy from leftover drippings by sauteeing mirepoix in it, then adding the congealed roasting juices and water and a little Better Than Bullion to the stock. Last night's gravy was made with cornstarch and it was fine until Mr. Pup gave it a big drink of red wine. Nobody likes gray gravy. Ugh. It tasted fine, but I like the flavor of the one I just made better. So, for the record, roast chicken, mashed potatoes, steamed asparagus and ciabatta rolls. Nice golden gravy over the chicken and potatoes. He's on call to work late tonight. I'll probably dine alone.
