What's for Dinner, Thurs., June 13, 2013

I'm headed off to the kitchen to make my chicken soup now. I made the broth already and next up is to add the ingredients--the chicken itself, spinach, gnocci, par-cel (a combination of celery and parsley), onion, and maybe a few other things I've not thought of.

Today was rainy all day so it will be nice to have soup tonight.

I am going to whip up some corn-scallion pancakes to go with.

Dessert will be a pomegranate ice bar.

Tonight we are having braised pork loin with carrots, mashed potatoes, and a leaf lettuce salad with fennel shavings and black olives in a lemon-olive oil dressing. Fresh pineapple, strawberries, and blueberries for dessert.

Not so achy today. Mr. Pup has been cooking under my instruction for weeks and I know he will appreciate a good dinner. He will be even more thrilled that my hands are working again!

I hope you're back for good!

Sometime you must tell us stories of Mr. Pup learning to cook under your tutelage.

We missed you a lot!

That salad sounds awesome--if I can pick up a fennel, I may try that tonight.

It's cool here in NJ--so glad I made that soup, which turned out so well that I over ate last night, which I rarely do.

a good, steamy pot of chicken soup is the way to do it! I have good days and bad days, lately almost all of them not on the good side, but I am determined not to miss out on too much of life. My show will open in September next year. There is a lot to be done in the meantime, but I aim to be hitting on all cylinders for that!

Bill made Pork Fried Rice, but I don't feel like eating today. Something cold sounds good though!
