Related: About this forumI just made the best banana bread that I've ever made in my life (and I've made a lot).
http://myrecipemagic.com/recipe/recipedetail/banana-bread-with-roasted-bananasThe only changes I made were to sub brown sugar for half the white sugar and I added some black walnuts. Roasting the bananas really enhanced the flavor and the bread is so moist. I'll never make it again without roasting the bananas first.

(31,525 posts)I made it's for the guys I work with and they loved it. Truth be told, I could serve sawdust with a little butter and sugar and they'd love it. They're so easy.

(50,130 posts)Can't buy them here. I used to use them in banana bread and they do indeed make a good contribution.

(31,525 posts)I received 3 quart size jars from a friend of my boss. She and her husband lived in the Ozark hills all of their lives on a farm. He did carpentry, she tended the large garden and took care of the farm. They are both gone now, but I still get her walnuts out of the freezer when I make something special. This is the last jar and although it's been over 10 years, they are still fresh and delicious. I think of her every time.
