Not sure here....we still have pizza and meatloaf, but it's Bill's first day off in 6 days, so we will probably cook something yummy to celebrate.

(35,675 posts)I'll make my own tomato sauce.
This is all provided the sink gets fixed. My plumber snaked the kitchen sink--but when the upstairs shower was used, it filled up again, so obviously there is more work to be done.
He's working on another sink now--I'm installing a new faucet. It's a waterfall style faucet.

(60,014 posts)recipe from a great local restaurant. Ingredients are great tomatoes, sweet peppers, cucumbers, a dash of olive oil, salt and pepper, and sherry vinegar - the components have been marinating in our refrig for 24 hours - in a few min I will add some fresh basil, immersion blend to puree, top with olive oil drizzle and some cherry tomatoes - having it with crusty bread!

(36,827 posts)Brined the chicken for 2 hours in a simple 10% brine solution (1 liter water, 100g salt, 1/4 cup molasses), then dried and rubbed with paprika, allspice, and a bit of cayenne pepper.
Smoked chicken to 165F internal temp with peach and cherry wood, then finished on the grill.
Fresh steamed green beans with truffle oil and balsamic vinaigrette.
Corn on the cob prepared in the husk and cooked on the grill.

It is good but I think it would be even better wrapped in a wonton wrapper or something.

Grilled cheese with some of those tomatoes?
I so wanted to make soup or one of the other suggestions people gave me yesterday, but right now I'm just a big blob, the wind is blowing and gusting like it's gone mad and I wish someone would cook me dinner!
Grilled cheese and tomatoes is the way to go!

(60,074 posts)beans and greens with cornbread. Before I put the cornbread in the oven, I apply fresh ground pepper. This version had chopped Jalapeno and cheese mixed in the batter. Leftovers are going to be worth waiting for.

(9,791 posts)DH had partial knee replacement surgery yesterday so he'll be a guest of the medical center until Thursday. Neither my daughter or I had any desire or time to cook so I got takeout from the best hoagie shop in the area.It was a good choice!
