The Sox beat the evil empire, 6 - 1. Yeah!

To keep this in the C & B mode, hot dogs, etc. really hit the spot. Fun food.

Good crowd, beautiful night.

$12.75 for a beer (OMG!!) and a lousy hot dog for $8, but dad had a wonderful time and we had a good crowd around us.

I really, really love going to the game.

I took a vegetable peeler to a zucchini, summer squash and carrot and sauteed them with half an onion and a couple of cloves of garlic until tender. Season with some salt and pepper and grate some parmesan cheese over it. So delicious and none of the guilt of pasta!

squash from the market down the road from me. Squash is about played out round here, but we can sometimes get some from just north of here.

I had some veggie chips (like potato chips) which I didn't care much for so I ground them fine in my little chopper and "breaded" fried egg plant slices with them. Not bad. Also, I've been adding chopped zucchini, carrots, spinach,and/or fresh tomatoes to marinara, alfredo, or pesto sauce when making spaghetti.

Those were the days!

I remember flaming ouzo from my company trips to Chicago days, which were when we marketing mgrs from McDonalds would have meetings at company headquarters. We would go out at night to the comedy clubs. Second City.

Good times!

Went back there after many years just a few years ago. Still a really fun place, though Wells is nothing like it used to be.

I don't see saganaki though.

I'd probably get a sampler plate because I like a small amount of lots of things.

Have a great time!

Definitely a hot dog, but I'm going to scope out some of the more unusual food stands as well.

A microbrew - I know it will cost a fortune, but I want to have one.

Cant' wait!

I grilled an eggplant.

Also grilled chicken kababs, a red pepper, finocchio, and onions.

Mixed yellow rice with vegetables--green beans, cauliflower, snow peas, carrots, garlic, and zucchini. Chopped the chicken Sprinkled it with red pepper flakes and drizzled sesame oil over the chicken.

The eggplant is for tomorrow and I intend to make a dip or a spread with it.

23. Shrimp fajitas
Sat Aug 17, 2013, 08:30 PM
Aug 2013

I bought some U20 shrimp this morning. Picked a poblano and a bell pepper from the garden, and nabbed an avocado from the neighbor's tree (with permission, of course). So.... shrimp fajitas with guacamole is in store tonight.

Too bad the tomato plant didn't make it this year (I live in the Mojave desert). It seems like only the peppers thrive here, which is OK if you dig hot chilis like I do. I had a bumper crop of serranos this year, waited until they turned red, and then made a whole jar of asian style chili-garlic sauce. Yum!
