what wonders do you have planned tonight?

I use the "Near East" brand taboule salad mix. Pretty good. It's already done and chilling in the fridge. The rest is quick, simple to finish when I'm ready to eat.

Mine are from a can, but I like *all* green beans. How do you saute yours? I can buy fresh ones, so what do you do to make them tasty ?

then finished in the oven. One skillet meal.

For the beans I keep it simple - salt, pepper, slivered almonds. The pan saute is in butter. Tarragon's a good herb for beans, but I'm skipping it - the salmon breading has plenty.

but I'll forgo the almonds:

http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/tyler-florence/green-beans-with-caramelized-onions-and-almonds-recipe/index.html?ic1=obinsite

Kosher salt
3 pounds green beans, trimmed of stem end
1/2 cup skin on sliced almonds
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
5 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 large onions, sliced thin
2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme leaves
Freshly ground black pepper

Seems very similar to your recipe. I need to try it when I have fresh ones!

and green beans. They are just humble green beans from the can, but I wonder, is there a way to make them as good as the ones from KFC? I love green beans from there.

Oh, and I'm making a bit of stuffing, too.

ETA: None of this is fried. Despite what some might imagine, we actually bake meats and vegetables here in the South, too

Flash frozen and they hold a good green color and firm texture when cooked. The beans from KFC, are they breaded and deep fried? Don't think I've had them. (KFC doesn't have a franchise spot here.)

I like the taste and texture of them. They are savory without being overpowering, but they are cooked a bit too much. If I could get that in green beans that aren't overcooked, it would be heaven. I *love* them, and always have.

ETA: I've tried frozen ones, too, and they are delicious, but I haven't figured out what to season them with to get a good, savory flavor. Love them anyway, but they are just shy of how I'd like them

Thanks for the suggestions on the chocolate sauce. I think I am going to try it and maybe make the bananas as bananas foster, then put the sauce on them.

1-2 lbs ground beef
1 bunch of green onions diced
1 small white onion diced
2 cans tomato sauce
1 can petite diced tomatoes
1 cup brown sugar
1 box pasta . We use shells.

Boil noodles to desired tenderness--rinse and set aside

Brown hamburger-drain
add brown sugar ( I actually use a little more because I like it sweet)
Add onions, Tomatoes and sauce. Mix thoroughly. Add the cooked noodles and simmer a few minutes.

We serve it with Garlic bread.

I wish I would have bought two of them and stuck one in the freezer, but as it stands, there's plenty left over. If anybody left the table hungry after that, it was because they were trying!

It came out great!

With chicken and lots of thyme.

Zucchini muffins to go with.

Making now to serve late tonight, as I made a mid-day brunch. I made quiche with chipotle cheese, mozzarella, cheddar, parmesan, spinach, onion, red pepper. On top I put sauteed zucchini rounds with lots of garlic.

Cornbread to go with and I also cut a microgreen salad from the raised bed in my garden that I designed especially for them. That was actually the main meal of the day.

Picked the green tomatoes just before frying them. Dusted the tomato slices with cornmeal and panko, and fried them in butter/oil.
