I am going to the Olive Garden to meet friends. It was not my choice but I know it won't be so bad. I'll eat salad and something from the "lighter choice" menu.

Meanwhile I'm making a pot roast for the family. I just browned it and it smells so good in here! The dog is sitting in front of the stove.

And that's a smart dog! Hope you have a great time with your friends.

It's a grilled sandwich recipe, but I'm using the filling for wraps, as I just bought soft-shell burrito wraps.

Has chopped broccoli, herbs (basil, thyme), onion, all of which are sauteed and then sprinkled with grated cheese.

Carrot-raisin salad.

Dessert: one small piece dark chocolate.

Red wine (shiraz).

It's warm here. I don't want to heat up the kitchen too much.

Maybe some baked beans on the side.

My cheese shipment has arrived on the island, but I haven't yet figured out how to retrieve it.

Scored a bunch of short ribs today (I love them!!!) and will make them when what I'm eating now is gone...probably Friday and several days after.

Have a couple of avocados that need to get sliced. Figure I'll make guacamole for a snack later.

So I went to my local Chinese place and hurt myself with octopus in spicy black bean sauce. Yummy. Along with a couple of spring rolls and wasabi.

Or, what's it like? Even after two years of living in a Chinese household I never had octopus. The family is Northern Chinese, Mandarin, so seafood wasn't a big item. Fresh water fish, yeah. But little seafood.

bacon, ground beef, jalapenos and green chilies with a three-cheese blend.

1) it's too hot to cook 2) the fried chicken from lunch goes in the cooler for the drive tomorrow 3) i just cleaned the kitchen and don't want to mess it up.

and they forgot the bacon. that is what makes that pizza so good.
