(3,744 posts)Marinaded in honey, soy sauce, hot sesame oil, black pepper and crushed red pepper. Probably a simple salad. Don't feel like doing much. Feel an earache coming on. Yuck.

(146,218 posts)no name open air place on the ocean.
It's blowing like crazy today, so there were crashing waves and outstanding scenery.
We had nachos with beans, cheese, peppers and some excellent chopped, roasted beef.
Then a whole fish (snapper, maybe?) deep fried and served with cabbage salad, rice, tortillas and excellent salsas.
That a great time!
And I got to practice my spanish. I love going to places where the staff speak little or no english. It gives me the opportunity to really try and talk.
Great fun all the way around.
is living!
The crashing waves part really got me.

(146,218 posts)I have gotten good at telling people that I want to speak spanish (in spanish) and they are generally more than happy to work with me, unless they are really busy.
When I first got here, I was so intimidated and fearful that I would embarrass myself. The more I talk, though, the less I feel like that and the better I do.
And getting compliments about how I am doing is the icing on the cake.

(146,218 posts)They have an assortment of poboys that appealed to me.
I would go for the andouille poboy dressed (tom, lettuce, mayo). Is their bread good? A good poboy is totally dependent on having the right bread.
