After coffee -
Some of my faves at home are dinner leftovers. Not a big pizza fan but when I buy one a microwaved slice or two in the AM hits the spot. Anything with rice, Asian or Latin American, cold or reheated. That left over Reuben sandwich? Done. LOL.
What's yours?

(45,851 posts)I like a tablespoon or two of heavy cream in mine though, it really improves the texture as well as the flavor and I buy the generic store brand instant oatmeal since I can't tell the difference

(5,997 posts)Quick and easy to do with each serving being-
Two flour tortillas warmed in a skillet (each of which will half of the below)
Four crispy bacon slices
Two eggs - cooked to order (I like them just a bit runny)
Top with some fresh pico de gallo, salsa or tabasco.

(5,997 posts)I've recently been seen reheating-
Tamales
Enchiladas
and the leftover turkey taco meat with yellow rice and refrieds.
It's not uncommon to see the jar of Mrs. Renfro's Ghost Pepper Salsa on my breakfast table.
(although I favor the Jardine's salsa line, which is a bit tougher to find in Chicago)

(19,288 posts)Maybe because this is Idaho. I have a neat little hand implement that came from my grandparents' restaurant that slices french fries. I cut the French fries into cubes.
Then they go into hot oil in a small cast iron skillet with an old fashioned drip drop lid. They steam and fry at the same time. Takes about 15 minutes. In that time I can make toast and eggs over medium to go with.
I like non traditional breakfast too. Cold pizza or last night's leftovers rock.

(4,473 posts)Insert several pieces of smoked salmon and a very thin slice of onion. If you were to toss a few capers on the cream cheese, I wouldn't stop you. Definitely hold the tomato.
As an alternate, eggs benedict with proper hollandaise sauce.
Orange juice to drink, followed by a cup of coffee with cream (not milk, and half-and-half only in articulo mortis) and two sugars.

(28,476 posts)every day if I could afford it. When I get it at the local bagel place, I have them add cukes and spouts. I also don't like tomato on it, either. Waaay too slippery to hold together! LOL!
For me, though, it's definitely hold the capers. Got very sick years ago trying a rattlesnake dish that was heavy on capers. Can't even think of them now without feeling queasy.

(15,090 posts)My standard breakfast lately has been half a cup of Fage 2% yogurt with some fruit--usually berries because they're pretty low in carbs. I love oatmeal, too, but rarely have it because I only eat grains once a day and usually save them for dinner.

(2,674 posts)I like Mountain High Yogurt - plain - with some fresh fruit. Had chopped grapes and strawberries this AM, but my favorite fruit with the yogurt is red grapefruit, which I peel and supreme. A drizzle of honey or a spoon of dark brown sugar on top is good. To go with this, I like mega grain bread which I dry toast in the skillet so it is crunchy. My sweet pit bull Winnie always eats a few pieces of the dry toast.

(28,476 posts)Generally my go-to is cereal, instant oatmeal, or peanut butter toast. I'm not crazy about any of them, but they're fast and get me out the door to work without fainting. My weekday favorite when I have it? I do love my leftover pizza.
But my favorite breakfasts are Sunday mornings when my sweetie cooks for me. There are always eggs, usually an omelet or a scrambled mash-up, and sometimes there's fruit pancakes or french toast made with cinnamon raisin bread. Yummmm.

(9,828 posts)or a fruit scone with a pot of Assam. Since I never seem to get that done early in the a.m., I like banana dunked in almond butter, graham crackers with almond butter and a banana or apple.
If I were having a late breakfast with someone preparing it all for me, I would choose home fries, bacon/sausage, grits with cheese/green onions, but I'm always open to suggestions!

(10,170 posts)I start with a very small amount of fruit in the bottom of the blender and add a little water, not juice. The point being to minimize the sugar to not trigger an insulin response, but have an enjoyable flavor. i usually use frozen fruit from Costco- the mangoes are exceptionally good.
Then add a good helping of greens. I pull from the garden and sometimes toss in edible weeds. Top off with some sort of nut protein, usually, almond butter, walnuts or chia. It's better to soak the almonds or chia, but I rarely remember to. Various supplements can be added. I am fond of chorella these days.
Blend, pour, enjoy! Very sustaining!

(2,921 posts)The eggs should be fried in butter on med/high. First add a heavy tablespoon of butter and heat the pan until the butter has a hint of brown, then add the eggs. They will cause the butter to spit and splatter, but this is what you want, (keep your face away). Fry the eggs until the whites half solidify and flip. At this point you can turn off the burner, give them a few minutes and serve. The butter should be nicely browned and give off a pleasant nutty fragrance and flavor.
Frying eggs was the first cooking lesson I received as a child from my grandmother. I've never tasted eggs better than hers and it always brings back fond memories preparing the meal she served routinely for breakfast.
