a Baba Ganoush I just made (added a few roasted red peppers, since there was room on the grill next to the eggplant - smells really great) and a bottle of Prosecco....supposed to be wine and cheese. So light bites and a sunset from high atop Durham!

so I only need to cook a pound at a time. Cooking for 2 "normal" appetites and 1 teen is significantly different!

I left the observatory early today, so as to go in late tomorrow. So, it's like a 1/2 day off... the wine cork has already been popped, and since the food has already been made, I'm taking the rest of the day easy. And, I still have 1/2 a baguette in the freezer for dunkin'.

Between pinto and cbayer, I don't know who is making me laugh more w.r.t. the date.

I'm such a nerd....

that today's Stardate 11 so you are on holiday, and you had some moon cheese and a Mars bar to celebrate.

Cucumber salad, made with my garden cukes.

I received a lovely note today from guests who were at the party. Thanks for a nice evening type of thing. Nice to hear from them and that they enjoyed the evening!

along with veggie patties. You can make a sort of sailsbury steak with them! My first time buying them! I hope they are good!

I'm going to freeze most of it because I have a run of guests coming, but last night I served it in Crespelle (which is just the italian work for crepes). I mixed it with some Bechamel, rolled it up in the crepes and covered it with more Bechamel and parmesan.

Baked for a bit and it was delicious.

I also fixed some very nice green beans. They are so good right now - baby ones, sweet and tender.

We have a flood of fresh figs and I am pushing DH to continue his adventures in the world of pastry!

I got one for my birthday. Big pockets, loops (to hang stuff on I guess?), down to my knees so it serves as a quick hand towel as well. I put it on and I really feel the part. LOL, Cafe Pinto.

He's really trying to get into it. Problem is, he is not all that fond of recipes. This can be something of a problem when one is starting out.

But I am trying to help him without being too helpful, if you know what I mean.

Right now he has a big bunch of figs that he needs to do something with.

Enjoy your cooking, my friend!

And don't forget to dance.
