Thanks

And I recommend the latest version of Harold McGee's classic "On Food and Cooking: The Science and Lore of the Kitchen"

I bought it for my Kindle recently as my twenty-six y.o. paperback was/is falling apart. He's a great writer and makes it fun to read about food science

She did a great job on investigating that horror (I knew it had to be a nutritional mess--never have ordered one) and on this page she not only tells you what's in it, she explains the chemicals and shortcuts, and she goes even further to give you a link to a recipe for a pumpkin coffee drink that's healthy.

Like one with real pumpkin in it, LOL.

At the campus I work at, they have a Starbucks not only at the library (!the library?!), but they have a "satellite" on the 3rd floor of the building where I teach. At the elevator I will often see students coming from the satellite Starbucks with these whip-cream topped drinks that are full of sugar. One day a student (without a drink) remarked, "Diabetes in a cup." At least they are not all unaware.
