OT- Tentative food agendas for a TX family visit.

Going out to TX to see my brother. Will be there over Thanksgiving, but that meal is up in the air. Both of his sons and their families are out of town - one in Paris, one in NYC. So it'll be he and his ex, still a great friend to him, us all and myself. I'm guessing Cornish game hens at her house, veggie sides and some sort of trifle.

Then he and I are on our own. The plan - BBQ beef and pork at a great local joint. Fresh fried catfish from his buddy's "secret" catfish hole - we catch, he cooks. Shrimp down at the Gulf - if the weather's good it'll be an overnight camp out. German dinner in New Braunsfels. Something tasty in San Marcos - hopefully a good Italian meal.

And I want some good fried chicken, somewhere along the way.

I'm jealous. The furthest south I made it on my recent trip was to Atlanta, and I really missed getting some of what you will be eating.

Have a great time.

I'm in New Mexico and could invite myself along!

Those do sound like splendid meal plans by the way.

I once fixed a Thanksgiving dinner of cornish game hens and various side dishes. I was working at National Airport at the time, and brought everything in and warmed it up in the microwave. It was delightful.

That's the plan so far. My sister-in-law is Brit/American, she does a really nice table, game hens, sides and great trifles. And she's a lot of fun. My brother and I are doing TX road food for the rest of my visit.

I am so looking forward to the gulf.

My best friend's sister lives in Austin, and I was thinking of inviting myself to her place, but you'll do.
