What's for Dinner, Tues., Nov. 11, 2014

It's a grazing day me, so I'm having odds and ends of things I've made, like butternut squash soup, tossed salad, and eggplant parmesan.

For appetizers tonight, I'm making some TJ stuff: chicken cilantro dumplings with hoisin sauce and vegetarian tamales (steamed).

Not sure yet what I'll do for dinner's main course.

They go so great together. Agree, the oil is pricey, so I used a sesame salad dressing blend. pinto Nov 2014 #5

I forgot about all the things you can't get here and my shopping list turn out to be something of a laugh riot.

Anyway, I have leftover chicken and I'm making chile.

Would love some of the TJ dumplings is you have any left over.

Marinated two small chops in sesame seed dressing. Room temp. Salt, pepper. Curried the rice, par boiled. Tossed mushrooms, asparagus and onion with thyme and a bit of the sesame seed dressing. Topped one chop with all the fixings, set one on top of the other like a sandwich. Salt and pepper. Wrapped tight in foil, baked @ 250 ~ 45 minutes.

Are a great combo.

I would use sesame oil a lot more, but it's so expensive.

Worked fine. And the best part of an "envelope" dish is the opening. Peeled open and steaming...mmm.
