I found this great website with companion app for meal planning, recipe storage and grocery lists

http://www.pepperplate.com/

You can import recipes, edit them, create your own, meal plan and auto create shopping lists from them.

I am in *love*.

I am historically TERRIBLE with lists and end up forgetting ingredients. My smartphone and an app called "Out of Milk" have helped me immensely. I have been searching for something to help me plan and organize meals better and I think I found one that I will use the hell out of. I've also been really struggling with meals. I find myself making the same things week after week and getting bored.

Do any of you guys use sites/apps for such things or can the rest of you be trusted with handwritten lists and your own creativity?

Let me know how you like it after you have used it for a bit.

I generally make my lists on a word document and then print it right before going to the market. The cookbooks I generally use are all on my tablet, so I can easily find them.

It was great. It arranges the list by aisle (which you can customize for your store!!) so I was not running around like a crazy person. This is important because the employee-owned market I shop is 250,000 square feet.

I have 8 solid dishes planned and EVERY damn ingredient rather than most. Now I am going to arrange them in the weekly planner based on the freshness of my ingredients.

The import utility for recipes is really great. You can alter it to your liking or scale it larger or smaller - both of which I love.

It's day 1 so I am admittedly in the honeymoon phase with it but I can see this being a long term love affair.

That by itself would be worth it.

Ok, I'm going to sign up and see how it goes. I love these kinds of toys.
