Need advice: Foods best and worse for Hypothyroidism.

I am not asking for medical advice, just some guidance. As a result of very recent health issues which required blood tests, I was diagnosed with mild Hypothyroidism (in addition to current other health issues). The doctor has prescribed medication for me to help with this particular situation.
I have been all over the internet looking for information. Much of what I have read involves change of diet from foods I normally eat.

I would appreciate it if anyone can direct me to a good site for information regarding foods that I should avoid or eat.
I have allergies to all shellfish, fish, soy, pine nuts and other things. I have read that certain foods like some of my favorite veggies are on the no-no list.
If you have a good idea where I might get info, I would appreciate it. Sometimes the search is so confusing, the net result is not helpful.

I do know that I should eliminate my favorite veggies--Yikes, no spinach or broccoli! No bok choy.
What else do I need to change. Phooey!
What I really need is a list of what to eat and what not to eat to help get things under control.
Thanks for any ideas.

have been on meds, and am not aware of any food prohibitions, or the opposite. It may simply be my ignorance, but I've proceeded as usual with no obvious adverse effects. Levels are good, weight is good, etc etc.

Good luck.

edit: Mayo says this: Generally, there's no hypothyroidism diet. Although claims about hypothyroidism diets abound, there's no evidence that eating or avoiding certain foods will improve thyroid function in people with hypothyroidism.

I've had it for ages and take medication; my levels are always on the mark and I have plenty of spinach and broccoli in my diet.

but otherwise you can eat any food you enjoy, especially vegetables. I've taken thyroid meds for 40 years and had no problem with diet. You'll start getting better with the meds, but if you've gained weight because of the glandular dysfunction you'll still have to lose it the old-fashioned way. Step up your exercise and you'll digest better. Good luck!

The Mayo Clinic knows all:

Hyper not hypo here. No food restrictions except things to avoid near the time of meds (see the website). Avoid wasting time on nutcase sites

I do recall that there are two meds for hypothyroidism and one has had problems with erratic dose levels in the pills, so check that out.

Possibly like me, you may go into remission. It took me about 2 1/2 years.

Take the medication. It's a simple replacement and most cases of hypothyroidism are idiosyncratic and there is no specific cause or treatment other than hormone replace.

I don't know of any reason why you should eliminate spinach or broccoli or bok choy.

Many years ago, there were a significant number of cases caused by iodine deficiency. After they started putting iodine in the salt, that pretty much disappeared.
