what's for dinner - wednesday, march 11?

there's plenty of sandwich fixings, pasta salad, hummus and tabbouleh in the fridge, so ours likely won't involve us cooking.

it's our city's restaurant week and i'll try to talk the husband into taking me on a date, but there's a greater chance that he'll cut off his own hand than actually take me out.

it's a bit of a sad day for us. we're going to return fat cat to the earth later today and part of me feels like we should feast in her honor. we picked a spot where the summer sun will keep her warm and she will have good company in the back yard. i miss her terribly, but i am at peace.

hope you all are well

special today is 2 nice catfish fillet, 6 shrimp on a bamboo rod
lemon pepper green beans, and ribbon fries. 8.00
and there is enough to share. also bought 2 fish taco's
so for 10.00 bucks we have dinner.

I am very sorry for your loss. I am going to get mobbed

and mushrooms and onions and marinara. Though usually I have it in a roll, I'll just add some rigatoni and serve it as a skillet.

onions. And some kind of salad using up wilted produce and dressed with balsamic vinagerette.

So sorry for the loss of your furry baby, fizzgig. Sounds like you are giving her a fine final resting place. Bless you and family as you mourn for your missing member. ((((((fizzgig))))))

First, so sorry about the loss of fat cat. It's always so hard even if we think we are ready.

I was home today so I got a jump on dinner. Problem is the last few days my family hasn't been ready to eat when we usually do which would be right about now. I'm starving as usual. I've made a pork tenderloin with an onion and pepper topping and it smells SO good!

series, so gods damned hard. the rest doesn't sound all that bad, either.

we sent fat cat across the bridge last wednesday and today was the first day of thawed ground and confluence of the familial schedule to give her a send off. i know she's waddling through fields of quarter pounders and drinking from a river of fries.

she was a good girl.

My dinner was pitiful because I had to work late. I absolutely did not feel like cooking, and while I had fresh chicken, ground beef, and sirloin in my frig, there was no way I was up to making a single thing.

So yeah, a ham sammich, which I put cheddar on and warmed it in the oven. I also did a shortcut with Trader Joe macaroni balls, which I happen to love but they are not healthy or good for a person; total junk food. To make matters worse, I did not even feel like making tomato sauce so I bought a jar of canned tomato sauce to put over the macaroni balls.

Hangs head in shame.

If the RG were here, he would throw these things in the trash.

Oh well, at least I didn't buy some ready-made dessert. No dessert here tonight. But I did have a few glasses of red wine.

I'll bet my great nieces/nephews would like them and it might just give me a good excuse to try them.

Thanks, Cher, for the great tip.

They'll like them and you'll like them, and pretty soon you'll be stocking up your freezer with four or five packages.

The tomato sauce is delicious with them.
