Super Sizers (UK Food Show)

Has anybody ever watched this program? It's a very interesting (and funny) look at food throughout the ages - from medieval up to modern times. I'm hooked!

Most of the programs are available on YouTube in their entirety.

Here is a link to my favorite episode so far:

But I think they're all great.

This will be today's time suck when the temperature approaches triple digits and it's too hot to move from in front of the fan and my main other activity will be soaking my hair to keep my head cooler.

"Toughest Jobs" might be of interest if you like their TV, the premise is that spoiled twenty somethings in debt and still largely being supported by Mom & Dad are offered jobs all over the world doing hard physical labor. While there are a couple who need solid kicks to the butt, most of them rise to the occasion. It's a good show that tells people what it takes to support modern life.

ETA: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I love the way they announce the menus in the posh accent.

I will check out the show you mention. I'm off on holidays right now and getting a bit bored. So thanks for that.

Let me know what you think if you do watch it.

I find it to be a fresh take on the same old same old cooking shows....love that a bit of history is mixed in with it.

And humor!

They were particularly cringe worthy to those of us who remembered the times in an urban setting, even if we were too poor to be yuppies and live like that.

I really did laugh out loud at those.

It was odd to find out the deprivation diet of wartime rationing was actually the healthiest. It was certainly the stodgiest and dullest.
