denbot: Cup Cake War K.I.A.

The denbot clan just checked off taste testing the third contestant of Cup Cake Wars.
This afternoon Alley, mini-Alley, and I drove 20 minutes to Inglewood's Cup Cake War winner
Sweet Red Peach: http://www.sweetredpeach.com/
Mini-Alley did not share her Red Velvet Cheese Cake cupcake but assured us that it was delicious, also she gave the Vanilla Bean with Chocolate Frosting two thumbs up, but again we had to take her word for it. Alley just ordered one, the Sweetpotato Cup cake which she shared. Very Delicious. I tried two, the first just because I liked the name; The 7up cupcake. It tasted like a creamy 7up, tasty and cool. The second cupcake I tried was a Keylime Cupcake OMFG!!!! it was amazing. Both Alley and I agreed it is a to-die-for cupcake. The flavors were spot on, and to me a very unique cupcake flavor profile. Even the tiny slice of candied lime that garnishes the top was spot on! Her Cupcakes are fairly priced at 2.50each.

Previously we tried Cup Cake Winner Cupcakes Couture here in our home town Manhattan Beach.

Our favorite is the Cinnamon Apple Cupcake, but all of her cupcake are pretty good. Cupcakes Couture's offering are numerous, well thought out, classic flavors, though kinda expensive, starting around 4.50 each.

The third Cup Cake Wars contestant we've tried was eliminated in the first round. Baby Cakes of Torrance.

My all time favorit cupcake was their Vanilla Cream Cupcake, but that cupcake now it has to share the favorite pedestal with Sweet Red Peach's Key Lime Cupcake. Baby Cakes has been a favorite of ours for years.
They were the shop that did our Wedding Cup Cake tower, Which consisted of about 8 different flavored cupcakes, all of them were very good, and what our reception guests complemented the most. Not bad considering we catered the dinner with good Mexican Food, and an open bar! Baby Cakes are moderately priced at around 3.50 a full sized cup cake.

the cupcake places are everywhere now. I could see maybe 2.50 but the ones I've passed are more like 3.95 and I just can't see what could be worth that. I suspect a key lime cupcake would be my favorite.

I tried some minis at a friend's house after she used a Groupon and they were good but still not something I would pay extra for.
