I've been working overtime at two jobs so I haven't been on much, or had much time to cook. I'm definitely interested in everyone's reply to this thread. Perhaps it will spark an idea for me and an appetite for you!

maybe a homemade mac and cheese, pot roast or roasted chicken. But if I do mac or the chicken I'll have to go get the ingedients and I'm not all that motivated at the moment.

Hope you kick that nasty infection soon.

and I'll divide up the mac and cheese so I can freeze half. This is the best mac and cheese I've ever had in my life. A few Easters ago I made a triple batch to take to a potluck Easter dinner. I felt absolutely revolted as I was melting all the cheese and my ex kept saying I was fixing to kill off everyone with heart attacks. But, it was a hit and everytime I'm asked to make anything for that family....it's always the mac and cheese.

Cuz at Wendy's you can get a baked potato and a side salad, or a pretty good bowl of chili if needs be. No Wendy's near me, but I'd rather go there than McD or Jack in Box if I had to get fast food.

Have you ever tried the apparent new craze of adding lobster to mac and cheese? I can't imagine what that's even like , but it seems to be everywhere these days.

Your mac and cheese looks absolutely divine.

I read these every day to get ideas LOL

I very rarely know what we are having for dinner until it's time to figure out what to have for dinner. No clue what we are having tonight... but looks like roast turkey breast with homemade stuffing.. either today or tomorrow. Depends on when that sucker gets thawed out.

Sweet potato oven fries, purple leaf lettuce salad with tomato and avocado, crust French roll. Fresh cherries for dessert. I'm staying up to watch my friend who has a digital segment on Saturday Night Live. I hope she gets a line!

But that won't be what we are having for supper. It will be pork chops, and leftover mashed redskins made into potato patties, and cauliflower slaw. The asparagus will have to be tomorrow, with chicken-cheesy dish.

Am spending the day scanning 19th century family photos into the computer to share with family members. Thinking about their food choices, in coastal Connecticut. Besides baked beans, of course. Two of my ancestors were lighthouse keepers, whose food was probably boated in occasionally. I'll have to check their diaries to see if they talked about provisioning.

...because they are in my storage space in a trunk. I hate to have family things in storage -- am hoping to get it cleared out and sorted when the weather improves. I'll keep it in mind for posting, though.

They were lighthousekeepers off Long Island. Two generations. I have a photo of the two of them sitting in front of the lighthouse. Pretty cool.

We met my niece, her husband and kids at a great Italian restaurant we like. The company was wonderful and the pizza never disappoints. The kids were so much fun.
