What's for Dinner, Mon., Jan. 2, 2017

A pork chop is brining, and I'd like to have it with applesauce, but since the RG is cooking, that's up in the air.

Arugula with pear and toasted pine nuts for a salad.

I'm not sure what the vegetable will be, since he's cooking tonight. He might fix pasta instead of a vegetable.

parmesan carrots, and a few bites of smoked pulled pork. We had pears poached in honey/orange juice with a little vanilla and cinnamon. Oh, and cornbread!

Happy New Year to one and all! Thanks to Cher for hosting this thread.

Ok, so I'm substituting the aaloo (potatoes) for cauliflower. Is it now vin-phoolagobhee?

Served over jasmine rice.

Great to be cooking again!

Not bad! Chicken and rosemary; the package was $1.99! Very big ravs, and more than enough for two. Salad (including, yes, Aldi organic tomatoes), and Aldi's cheesey garlic bread rounded out the meal.
I've been trying out their stuff for the last few weeks and the prices are really low. Quality pretty good on most everything I've tried...including some amazing chocolate-dipped cookies I shouldn't have gotten. They even have the Marcona almonds with rosemary that I love from Trader Joe.

I'm a fan of Aldi's. Around here, their produce is very fresh. Only on rare occasions have I been disappointed. I am going to be looking for those chocolate-dipped cookies and the Marcona almonds!

Happy to read your post the other day.
