We're going to the place on the cliff that overlooks the NYC skyline. I hope they have clams, 'cuz I want that for my appetizer. Salmon or salmon salad would be nice for an entree.
They have this dessert that is so good and maybe we'll share it. It's banana custard with ice cream they make in-house and 3 peanut butter cookies on the side.
The weather is beautiful here and this place has tables and terraces outside. Maybe we'll get to sit outside and look at the skyline for a while.

(9,831 posts)We had about 3 lbs. that I roasted on a huge pan covered in parchment paper and drizzled with olive oil. Salt & pepper and nothing else. Divine is an understatement.
We also had grilled turkey tenderloins with garlic, lemon, and oregano/thyme. Buttered red potatoes. Cabbage sauteed with garlic and caraway. For dessert, we had homemade pound cake with strawberries and whipped cream.

(35,685 posts)what 3 lbs of asparagus must be like!
I have asparagus in my garden, too, but if I get five spears a day it's a "big haul."
Your dinner sounds so delicious, japple, esp'ly the way you fixed the turkey tenderloins.

(9,831 posts)house here. Some of it died over the years, but the birds have planted enough on the fence rows and our most prolific crown is right near the compost heap! We get big, fat, sweet spears from that mother. It's a real effort to mow around here with all of the stakes marking the asparagus!

(2,016 posts)I buy the ones with the extra thick meat cap. Dry rubbed, then a light saucing just before they are done. A mac salad with onion, celery and tomato. Also, a green bean salad (garlic, lemon and sweet onion).

(9,831 posts)that made the best chicken tikka masala and, when they had it on the buffet, I would almost drown my rice in it. I have never made it myself, but think I need to work up the nerve to do it because our curry house closed and moved to Atlanta. Not too many fans of "foreign" food around here, though they do tolerate Mexican and Chinese.

(32,980 posts)General Mills has a division called Sujata Pàrampàra that is a lower sodium. dried spice mix. I added the water & yougut and dissolved it. I think the spice mix was under s $1.50. It was a tasty brunch leftovers.
