Related: About this forumWhy Nudists Favorite Kitchen Aid is the Slow Cooker
This should make for a lively holiday party.Nudists, like most of us, love to cook, begins the news release. But, according to the majority of the American Association for Nude Recreation members, they have a major incentive to avoid hot splatters. So, they often pull out their slow cookers for delicious, splatter-free meals.
It makes sense. You dont want hot grease escaping the frying pan and burning your ... stomach.
The association shares a couple of recipes, and they sound pretty good.
So, strip off your clothes and grab that slow cooker.
Slow Cooker Spaghetti Bolognese
2 pounds lean ground beef
1 large onion, diced (about 1 cup)
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup 2 percent milk
1/2 cup dry red wine (optional)
1 jar (45 ounces) spaghetti sauce
1 package (16 ounces) spaghetti, cooked and drained
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Place the beef (yes, it goes in uncooked!) into a 6-quart slow cooker. Break up the beef with a fork and season as desired.
Stir in the onion, garlic, milk, wine, if desired, and sauce. Cover and cook on low for seven to eight hours or high for four to five hours (start making the spaghetti during the last half hour of the cook time). Spoon off any fat. Stir the beef mixture, breaking up any large pieces of beef. Season to taste. Serve with the spaghetti and cheese.
I dont know if youre expected to eat the whole thing or invite a bunch of naked people over for dinner. But this should make several servings.

Once a BF of mine was making me brekky as a surprise and I heard the loudest yelp.Came running to find him holding a wet washcloth on his lower abdomen (he, at least, was wearing boxers)
...all he said was "never cook bacon naked!"

(15,383 posts)I have five. First one I bought myself, but it was pretty small so I bought a larger oval one. Then I saw one listed on a Freecycle page (where you list stuff you don't want but can't sell) so I snapped that up. Then I was gifted my next one, and my sister-in-law recently gave me one of hers. Every 3 or 4 months, I pick my recipes, go buy all the ingredients, and crockpot over two days (sometimes three if I'm feeling ambitious). I have a vacuum sealer so most of everything goes into the freezer, and I have dinners for months.

I now wear gloves when seeding hot peppers, by the way!

(1,706 posts)Raw ground beef in a slow cooker, especially set to low, does not sound safe to me. Sounds like food poisoning waiting to happen. And the milk and wine together sound gross too.

(55,013 posts)I would worry more about the cheap crap in the "chubs" than I would something I had ground or ground beef bought from a reliable source.
plenty of good sauces that include dairy and wines. milk sounded kind of weird to me in this recipe too, but then I thought about it and I bet it makes in nice and rich.

(32,980 posts)B/c I'm not using wine in it any longer, the milk does add a silkiness to the texture, kind of like a tomato cream sauce.
