What's for Dinner, Mon., April 2, 2018

Brussels sprouts soup. I know, that sounds horrible, right? But I actually think it's going to be good. I have some "gold" because my stock is so fabulous. The RG made it with a veal breast. The Brussels sprouts are pureed with the stock, onions, etc., and then when you have the soup, you fold in a tablespoon or two of cream.

To go with, a ham sandwich on a baguette along with Monterey Jack cheese, a roasted Poblano, and a slice of tomato. Also going to pop open a jar of chow chow, which I made from my garden harvest of last year. So excited about that.

It's a good thing the RG is gone. He would never have Brussels sprouts soup, I promise you that.

Piece of chocolate for dessert. Chocolate with hazelnuts and almonds.

Dirty, sore, and tired from changing out a mower deck at the country "estate." I missed lunch doing it. Arrived home ravenous.

So far I'm having lentil/chicken soup and ham biscuits.
Washing it down with steaming Earl Grey black tea.

I'm sure there will be more, but don't have a clue yet what it will be.

Last night with roast, potatoes and carrots.
I had leftovers tonight with fresh aspargus side, Potato bread and coffee too.
It is “hail snowing” (best description I can offer) here in the PNW again tonight.

I got a package of Hershey bars with almonds. Will be my dessert more than once this week probably.

For the brussels sprouts, I had bacon ends and I plumped some dried cranberries in water and added them with maple syrup and a few tbsp of pan drippings after frying off the bacon and sprouts. Finished them real nice and the cranberries were good in it.
