Eric Ripert

@ericripert
Anthony was my best friend. An exceptional human being, so inspiring & generous. One of the great storytellers who connected w so many. I pray he is at peace from the bottom of my heart. My love & prayers are also w his family, friends and loved ones.

They were together in France, and Eric Ripert discovered his body, I think.

Andrew Zimmern, the American celebrity chef, said that Mr. Bourdain had been in good spirits in recent months.

“The irony, the sad cruel irony is that the last year he’d never been happier,” Mr. Zimmern wrote on Twitter. “The rest of my heart aches for the three amazing women he left behind. Tony was a symphony.”

He must be devastated. I'm still trying to understand something that I guess none of us really be able to.

Peace

or something like that.

Amazing since I, and probably a lot of other people thought he had a wonderful life with all the adventures he got to experience. I guess it goes to show that depression is stronger than circumstances.

post anything for about 9 hours. His girlfriend did too, but not either ex wife. Eric did ring his body in his hotel room in the morning in France. He had hanged himself. Tony had a dark side and he was very sensitive, moody and a life long malcontent. I was shocked but not surprised since I have been a huge fan since 2001. I will miss him. Here's to you Tony.

Tomorrow they are running a marathon of his shows starting at 8 and Sunday a special at 10 PM and 1 AM. I wish the Travel Channel would show No reservations. They have most of them on Daily Motion for free and some times on You Tube as well as his first show A Cook's Tour 2001- 2002 (that is when I got hooked on Tony's style approach to food shows). I like his trip to The French Laundry in 2002 with Michael Ruhlman and Eric Ripert.
