I don't know what we'll be having for dinner because the RG's creative spirit hadn't taken hold by the time I left the house. However, he certainly fixed a nice lunch of tuna salad with hard boiled eggs and capers served over lettuce. There were also grilled peppers on the side--red, yellow, and green with onion, too. And a sliver of omelette made with chives and feta cheese.
A beverage made of raspberry juice and chia seeds. Now that was a bit unusual.
I am enjoying reading the posts of people who have gardens and how the produce is being prepared! And thank you, flamin lib, for your nice comment about my writing. And of course, I always look forward to hearing what FLFC is up to. I nominate FLFC as our thread mascot. What say the rest of you?

(2,301 posts)I've been craving it for weeks! Very basic, carrots, potatoes, etc, and served over Jewish egg noodles.

I am eating a cabbage/potato soup I found in the fridge. TJ prepared it when I was sleeping the other morning. Thick and peppery with lots of onion as well as baby carrots and celery.
FLFC is grouchy. He is having a commercial dog food which is chewy nuggets. He ate his first small serving quickly and complained that there was no more. I served him more and he went into his ferocious food guarding mode. I thought we were over this guarding of his food bowl. You can get bitten. I am gently discussing this with him. He appears over it for now. He gave no rating to his dinner.

(5,631 posts)Visited The Farmhouse Market last night and got market made bacon cheddar burgers, zucchini and orange and yellow bell peppers. I ate the meat sans bun but toasted a piece of sourdough in the garlicky butter drippings that I cooked the veggies in with some onion.
Its cool today so coffee and Nutter Butters for dessert.
Dogs make the best mascots. Imho...
FLFC for mascot. 🙂
Yeah, if we had a cat mascot, we could have a logo of a cat walking away from a full plate of food (for no discernible reason, of course).
Cats have about 75 per cent more "paws down" than "paws up."
How interesting you went to The Farmhouse Market. On a 4th of July visit to see his son, the RG must have spent about half his time there. He mentioned it numerous times. Anyway, I'm sure it must have been nice to cook your first meal in your new home.
Happy for you, Wawannabe. May you enjoy many fine meals there.
