What's for Dinner, Mon., July 23, 2018

Cubed beef in broth. Very tender and the broth is quite tasty. Cheddar cheese sticks.

Salad made of sliced yellow zucchini, cucumber, red onion, and toasted walnuts.

I'm having a tart black cherry kombucha with my meal, but the RG is just having sparkling water.

Dessert: whipped cream with blueberries. Over the whipped cream he will be pouring a little vermouth for sweetening.

she will have broiled trout and I will have a New York Strip. Sides are boiled baby potatoes bathed in butter with parsley and snow peas with a nice crisp Sauvaghn Blank. Desert will be Blue Bell vanilla ice cream and sliced strawberries splashed with Amaretto.

We brought the goodies from the garden for our salad:

Red leaf and green leaf lettuce with cherry tomatoes, red onion (store bought), sliced pimento-stuffed olives and cilantro (home grown) topped with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

We have a pair of Jurassic-sized chicken breasts that we prepared with spices and bread crumbs. They're roasting in the oven while my fiancee makes the yellow rice and black beans.

Dessert will be sliced fresh apples and Jarlsberg cheese with green tea.

Hey, NJCher! I never heard of kombucha. It sounds like a tasty alternative. Where do you obtain it? It sounds like there are some problems with home-brewing. I'm very curious so thanks for any info!

I haven't yet chosen among the leftovers. An afternoon nap seems to have made me lazy. Leaning towards eating the last of the pulled pork with BBQ sauce and some garden veggies as salad. Radishes and cukes.

FLFC is not happy with me. His dinner is warmed up hamburger and pulled pork with shredded bacon treat mixed in. The scent of the bacon treat is there, but he can't find them. Apparently I didn't put enough bacon in to flavor it through out. His rating seems to be that of a one paw up. "I'm eating this to please you."
