shrimp, lobster, and crab. I thought about making some special sauces, but doing other cooking today pushed me to just do butter and lemon juice and a horseradishy cocktail sauce. Sides include garlic-parmesan smashed potatoes, and asparagus. Dessert is a Harvey Wallbanger cake. A restaurant we like has Harvey Wallbangers on their cocktail menu. Though I came of age in the 70s, I had never tried one. Discovered I liked them a lot.

It's not easy being a shellfish lover in the heart of the Midwest here, but this is to celebrate my birthday yesterday.

Watermelon and Peanut Butter Cookie for dessert. Now that I see it all in writing, I do believe I am eating a very strange meal tonight. Perhaps no one else will notice.
